Villa I Barronci has a spectacular view on all sides, sweeping down over the well-kept garden with its tall trees and panoramic pool, over vines and olive trees with not a discordant note on the horizon. In the heart of the Chianti Classico region, the villa is named after its first owners who lived here in the thirteenth century. Today it belongs to a family who have transformed it into a comfortable and extremely functional – there is even a lift! – bed & breakfast with the yellow walls, green shutters, terracotta floors and flower filled tubs typical of Tuscan villas. Breakfasts are served in the sunny breakfast room with wide windows overlooking the garden or in the gazebo overlooking the swimming pool and feature a large assortment of fresh fruit as well as the usual breakfast fare and home made cakes and tarts. Florence is at only fifteen kilometers, while Siena and Volterra are at forty and San Gimignano at thirty kilometers away. Guests should also not miss Badia a Passignano with its abbey and historic cellars on a hill ten kilometers away. Wine tours can be organized in the local wine cellars of Chianti.
